Buford Prince, 76, of Norfolk formerly of Winside and Wayne, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at the Plainview Manor.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winside. The Rev. Abiba Alice Shomari will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery Winside.
Memorials may be directed to the Prince family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Buford Lawrence Prince was born Nov. 12, 1939 in Norfolk. He graduated from Winside High School in 1957. In the 1960s, he worked in Wayne for Wayne Cold Storage. He moved to Boise, Idaho where he worked for the State of Idaho for several years before returning to Norfolk. In Norfolk, Buford worked in various custodian jobs before his retirement. Buford’s favorite past times were fishing and watching westerns and baseball.
Survivors include his siblings, Phyllis Prince of Wayne, Russell (Lorraine) Prince of Winside, and Chuck Prince of Wayne; aunt and uncle, Effie and Norris Hansen of Wayne; cousins; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Memphis (Tibbs) Prince.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buford’s nieces and nephews, Paul Dean, Bev Prince, Kathy Prince, Brad Polt and Cheri Prince.
Active pallbearers will be Buford’s nieces and nephews, Lori Dean, Roger Prince, Ron Prince, Ryan Prince, Lana Polt and Randy Prince.
