Cissy Maly, 87, of Wayne, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeff Mollner and Deacon Gary French will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, May 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with family present. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed in care of the Maly family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
Cissy Mary Maly was born June 7, 1931 in Ayr, Scotland to Andrew and Josephine (Sabitini) Morrison. While working as a ticket taker on a double decker bus in Ayr, Scotland, Cissy met the love of her life, Jim. Cissy and Jim were married Dec. 27, 1954, in Ayr, Scotland. The couple moved to Wayne in 1960. Cissy worked in food service at Wayne State College for over 30 years where she was a “mother” to thousands of students. Cissy loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, ice skating, and singing old time songs.
Survivors include her children, James (Marcia) Maly of Norfolk, Kevin (Carla) Maly of Wayne, Josie (Ron) Paulson of Wakefield, Nancy (Dan) Decker of Sioux City, Iowa and Sarah (Travis) Birkley of Wakefield; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Betty Sloan of Ayr, Scotland; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim, in 2018; daughter, Sandra, in 1961; son, Daniel, in 1979; grandson, Matthew Luschen, in 2014; four brothers; and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Troy Bruns, Chad Bruns, Daniel Bruns, Justin Decker, Kaje Maly and Josh Staub.
