Ethel Doring, 74, of (Asheboro, N.C., formerly of Wayne, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 at (Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
Services will be held Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeanne Madsen and Chaplain Deb Hammer will officiate. There is no visitation. Private family burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to the Doring Family for later designation.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Ethel Jeanne Doring was born June 20, 1943, in Fort Collins, Colo. to Ernest and Helen (Hughes) Siefken. She grew up on a farm south of Wayne. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1961 and Northeast Community College in 2007. Ethel married Neil Doring in 1961, but later divorced in 1980. Ethel and Neil continued to raise their children together. Ethel received her LPN License in 1984, and worked as a nurse for many years. She moved to North Carolina in 2010, where she continued to work in nursing, before retiring from Randolph Rehabilitation of Asheboro.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle White (Mark) of Asheboro, N.C. and Kathleen Doring of Liberty, N.C.; two sons, Micheal (Pat) Doring of Stanton and Mark Doring (Joy) of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Fred) Beasley of Plainview; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as Neil Doring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Crystal; and her son, Mitchell.
