Fay Hartman, 79, of Wayne, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne. The Rev. Anna Speiser will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, March 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present.
Fay Howard Hartman was born Oct. 14, 1938 on a farm near Maskell to Burton and Marguerite (McClary) Hartman. He was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newcastle. In 1956 he graduated from Newcastle High School. After his high school graduation, Fay worked for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association for a number of years before going into farming. He enjoyed working with his cow/calf herd, raising hogs, and working the soil until his retirement. He moved to Wayne where he enjoyed woodworking, playing cards with family and friends, and working in his yard.
Survivors include two brothers and two sisters, Galen (Joan) Hartman of Laurel, Mildred Christensen of Elkhorn; Derwin (Alice) Hartman of Elkhorn; and Sharon (Russ) Breitkreutz of Wisner; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, and four brothers-in-law, Shirley (Ken) Hamer; Donna (Harold) Skerritt, Jerry Beck and Carl Christensen.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Christensen, Troy Hartman, Randy Beck, Darin Hartman, Laurie Oswald and Colleen Janke.
