Glenda Hurlbert, 78, of Carroll, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Carroll. The Rev. Kyle Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne with family present. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Carroll. Memorials may be directed to the Carroll United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Glenda Faye Hurlbert was born Nov. 18, 1939 at Winside to Segvard and Evelyn (Moeding) Nelson. She graduated from Winside High School. Glenda married Arlyn Hurlbert on July 27, 1957 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. The couple moved to Minnesota for a short time before returning to Carroll. Glenda was employed as an in-home day care provider for many years before working at the Sportsman Motel. She was a custodian at Wayne State College for approximately ten years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Carroll.
Survivors include her children, Todd (Lisa) Hurlbert of Brigham, Utah, Scott (Robyn) Hurlbert of Carroll, Cody (Heidi) Hurlbert of Tremonton, Utah, Brent (Jeanne) Hurlbert of Fremont, Trevor (Holly) Hurlbert of Wayne, and Jason (Jennifer) Hurlbert of Headland, Ala.; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Bowers of Denver, Colo. and Mary (Tom) Walker of Tega Cay, S.C.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlyn in 2014; a grandson, Travis Hurlbert; many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and family friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenda’s granddaughters, Kylee, Katlyn, Amanda and Amara.
Active pallbearers will be Glenda’s grandsons, Corbin, Kayden, Dustin, Joshua, Grant, Garet, Dylan and Kalvin.
