Lucille Nelson

     Lucille Nelson, 95, of Carroll, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at Careage Campus of Care in Wayne.
    Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. Fr. Jeff  Mollner, Fr. James F. McCluskey, Fr. Mark Beran, Deacon Pat Gross  and Deacon Gary French will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
    Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Carroll.
    Memorials may be directed to the Nelson family for later designation.
    Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Lucille Marie Nelson was born Oct. 9, 1921 on a farm near Carroll to Henry and Jennie (Grandgenett) Harmeier. She graduated from Carroll High School and attended Wayne State College. She was a teacher in a country school west of Carroll before her marriage. Lucille married Harry Nelson on May 28, 1942 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. The couple farmed near Wayne for a few years before moving to a farm north of Carroll.  After farming for 30 years, the couple moved into Carroll in 1979. Lucille was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Happy Workers Club.
Survivors include her son, LeRoy (Trudy) Nelson of Yankton, S.D.; daughters, Shirley (Richard) Woslager of Carroll, and Pat (Randy) Brudigan of Ainsworth; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry in 2002; a sister, Hazel (Eugene) Leonard, and   brothers, Melvin Harmeier, Leo Harmeier, Richard Harmeier and Merlin Harmeier.
Pallbearers will be Curt Nelson, Cory Nelson, Jess Zeiss, Dave Woslager, Robbie Harmeier, Darin Brudigan, Dan Harmeier, Rick Harmeier, Anthony Brown and Bob Harmeier.
