Marie Pfeiffer, 92 of Wayne, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne. The Rev. Jeff Mollner and Deacons Pat Gross and Gary French will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery at Winside.
Memorials may be directed to the Pfeiffer family for later designation.

Marie Catherine Pfeiffer was born April 16, 1926 at Cedar Rapids to Fred and Anna (Borer) Kraft. She graduated from Holy Family High School in 1944. She then began working as a bookkeeper at U.S. National Bank in Omaha. Marie married Don Pfeiffer on April 25, 1950, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Omaha. The couple farmed near Winside and then moved to Wayne in 1962. Marie was the bookkeeper for the Nu Tavern in Wayne that she and Don owned and operated until 1973. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altar Society, and a Baptism Quilter. Marie managed to make a quilt for all of her family members every Christmas.
Survivors include her children; Robert (Karen) Pfeiffer of Omaha, Carolyn (Mike) Beiermann of Wayne, Terry (Kathy) Pfeiffer of Omaha, Tim (Kathi) Pfeiffer of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Todd (Angie) Pfeiffer of Omaha; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (Liz) Kraft of Glendale, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 1992; five brothers and four sisters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marie’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Bob Pfeiffer, Terry Pfeiffer, Tim Pfeiffer, Todd Pfeiffer, Mike Beiermann and Jason Beiermann.
