Randall F.H. Carlson
Randall Carlson, 75 of Wakefield, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.
Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord. The Rev. Deb Valentine will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial with military rites will be in the Concord Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Concordia Lutheran Church or to Randall’s family.
Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.
Randall Frank Henry Carlson was born Oct. 12, 1943 in Wakefield to Vern and Nina (Anderson) Carlson. He graduated from Wakefield High School and attended agricultural classes at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Randall served in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He was a lifelong farmer in Dixon County. Randall was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord where he sang in the choir and served on the church council. He was a former 4-H member and a current member of the American Legion Post #131 in Allen. He enjoyed being a greeter at the Dixon County Museum in Allen and the Graves Library Museum and the Train Depot Museum in Wakefield. He also enjoyed woodworking and doing volunteer work.
Survivors include his sister, Kathryn Gannon of Omaha; his brother, Lyle Carlson of Allen; three nieces, two nephews, many cousins, extended relatives, and neighbors. Randall never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Thomas Gannon; and sister-in-law, Carol Carlson.
Pallbearers will be Terry Rhoades, Roger Boeckenhauer, Bruce Roeber, John Roeber, Kurt Rewinkel, Dwight Anderson, Warren Hansen and Reed Anderson.
