2019 Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout results

The first day of the 2019 Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout was held Friday at Wayne State College's Rice Auditorium.

With the forecast of winter weather on Saturday, times and locations for Saturday's and Monday's games have been changed. Schedules for Saturday and Monday are included below.

GIRLS BRACKET
Arlington 39, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 38 —
The Lady Eagles scored the final six points of the game and held of a last-second attempt by LCC to claim the win. Erica Wolfgram and Delaney Ehlers each had 12 points for the Lady Bears. Kylee Bruning led a balanced Arlington attack with 11 points.

West Point-Beemer 50, Auburn 38 — West Point-Beemer came back from a nine-point halftime deficit to claim a first-round win. Sidney Swanson scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Cadets. Desire Mowery paced the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points.

Hastings St. Cecilia 64, Hartington Cedar Catholic 38 -- The Blue Hawks pulled away in the second half to claim the win over Hartington CC. Makenzie Arens had a game-high 20 points and Tori Thomas added 18 for the winners. The Lady Trojans were led by Brynn Wortmann with 12 points and Aiden Wortmann with eight.

Pender 64, Wayne 59 — The Lady Pendragons hit 10 3-pointers to build a double-digit lead and hold off a Wayne comeback. Faith Morris hit four treys and scored a game-high 20 points for the Lady Pendragons while Ashley Ostrand added 15 points. Brooklyn Kruse paced the Blue Devils with 19 points and Frankie Klausen added 18.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 69, Arlington 62 —
The Bears had three players in double figures, led by Noah Schutte’s game-high 27 points, to outlast Arlington. Aiden Foreman led the Eagles with 23 points.

Auburn 73, West Point-Beemer 27 — The Bulldogs doubled their 21-point halftime advantage in the first five minutes of the third quarter hitting five 3-pointers in a 21-0 run to start the second half to take the easy first-round win. Cam Binder led four Bulldogs in double figures with 15 points. Keegan Doggett paced the Cadets with 15 points.

Hartington Cedar Catholic 62, Hastings St. Cecilia 40 -- After a slow start, the Trojans pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Blue Hawks 33-16. Myles Thoene lit up the nets with seven 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 32 points to lead Cedar Cathoilc. Paul Fago led St. Cecilia with nine points.

Wayne 71, Pender 10 — Wayne outscored Pender 36-2 in the second half to turn the game into a runaway. All but one player in the Blue Devil lineup made a mark in the scoring book, With Brandon Bartos’ career-high 14 points leading the way. Tyrus Eischeid added 13 points and Cody Rogers put in 10. Nathan Breitbarth and Jaxon Maise each had three points to lead Pender.
