LCC, Wakefield golf teams end season at districts
NORFOLK — A 45-minute rain delay softened the greens, but LCC and Wakefield were unable to get into the top three teams and top 10 individuals who qualified for state at Monday’s C-3 district golf tournament at Fair Play Golf Course.
The LCC Bears finished seventh in the 15-team tournament with a round of 362, led by Karsen Klooz with an 86 and Noah Schutte with an 87. Izac Reifenrath followed with an 88, Ty Erwin had a 101 and Logan Hansen shot a 102.
Wakefield finsihed 10th with a team score of 412, with Noah Lamprecht’s 98 and Tay Guill’s 99 leading the way. Parker Lehmkuhl added a 105, Julio Sanchez cardeda 110 and Blake Brown had a 124.
Hartington Cedar Catholic edged Creighton by four shots with a 309 to win the district title. Battle Creek finished five shots behind Creighton to take the third and final team spot.
Chase Largen of Creighton shot a 1-under 71 to win the district medalist title by two shots over Matthew Schaeffer of Hartington Cedar Catholic.
