Wayne sending five to Track Festival
Wayne High School has landed five competitors in the second-annual Nebraska Track Festival that will take place Thursday at Papillion-LaVista South High School.
Senior Kylie Hammer will defend her titles in the long jump and triple jump. She was an automatic qualifier in the long jump after finishing second at state last year, and qualified for the triple jump for a second straight season. She won both events at last year's first-ever all-class track and field competition.
Joining Hammer will be senior Jenna Trenhaile in the discus and junior Kaden Kneifl in the boys shot put, along with junior Gabi Meyer in the 800 and sophomore Cody Rogers in the triple jump and long jump.
The Wayne High athletes will compete in this non-scoring, all-class competition alongside some of the top athletes in the state. Competition will begin at 3:30 p.m.
