Tom Koll

Tom Koll, 58, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Winside, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Services will be held Friday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. The Rev. Harrison Goodman will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside with family present. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Winside.

Memorials may be directed to the Koll family for later designation.

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Thomas Scott Koll was born Oct. 27, 1960 in Norfolk to Robert and Jacquelyn (Freiberg) Koll. He attended grade school in Winside and graduated from Winside High School in 1979. He began farming with his dad and lived on his grandfather’s family farm. He married Teresa (Hartmann) in 1981 and to this union two children were born, Travis and Tara. They later divorced. For several years, Tom has farmed near Winside with his “brother” Brian, even after moving to live part time in Scottsdale, Ariz. Tom loved being a grandpa and the time he was able to spend with all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and cards, and fishing. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.   

Survivors include Connie Kathol of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Tara (Tyson) Ames of Winside, three grandchildren, Ashton Hanna, Reece Ames and Emery Ames; sister, Tami (Brian) Hoffman of Winside; nephews, Adam (Ashley) Hoffman and family,   Aaron (Alicia) Hoffman and family and niece, Ashley (Joe) Hartman and family; and extended family, Andrew Kathol, Dylan (Nick) Kathol, and Sr. Mary (Devon) Kathol; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Travis in 2017.

Pallbearers will be Bob Bowers, Paul Roberts, Robbie Harmeier, Randy Dunklau, Steve Deck and Trevor Topp.
